So the last few weeks Sam & I have decided to try and eat a little bit healthier. He wants to train for a Spartan Race. This race has multiple obstacles that you have to achieve and you need to be super fit. It is basically a cross fit challenge. There are many different levels of this race but I can imagine that it is extremely hard and you have to train a lot for it.
So I have been wanting lettuce wraps or “tacos” lol. So on our grocery trip at the beginning of the week I grabbed some Romaine lettuce to use as the wraps. I also chose turkey as my protein to use and I always just buy about a pound usually. I also bought greek yogurt to make a cilantro lime cream to use as a substitute instead of sour cream. I also of course had to get avocados, I LOVE them.
So for the turkey I just cooked it on the stove top. I coated the pan with Olive Oil and I minced some garlic and cooked it until it becomes aromatic. After that I then just added the turkey to the pan. I set aside some cumin, salt, pepper, Crushed red peppers, & smoked paprika. I’ll let you all know the exact measurements at the end. So I added all the spices and and seasonings to the pan. Let it all cook and and set it aside until the wraps are ready to make.
For the Greek yogurt cream I used about a cup of any Greek yogurt then I minced about a tablespoon of cilantro in the yogurt then used the juice of a whole lime. I added some salt and pepper and some cayenne to give it a little more flavor. Just mixed it all together and set it aside.
I also sliced some red onions for a topping along with diced avocado because you just have to have them on any “tacos”.
So for the assembly of the lettuce wraps first thing it to wash the lettuce and dry pat them dry with paper towels. Add your turkey filling to your liking that fills the lettuce wraps. Add your greek yogurt cream on top then the onions & avocado and you are all finish.
Then you eat all this deliciousness and enjoy the freshness of this amazing lettuce wrap.

Turkey Lettuce Wraps
1 LB of ground turkey
3 Minced cloves of garlic
1/2 a teaspoon of cumin
1/2 teaspoon of smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon of crushed red peppers
salt and pepper to taste
1 cup of greek yogurt
1 Tablespoon of finely chopped cilantro
Juice of 1 lime
pinch of cayenne pepper
salt and pepper to taste
Diced avocados
Sliced Red Onions
