So being a mom of two kids now and with my recent child being four months old. I feel like I don’t have enough time in the day for myself!
I love makeup, doing my hair getting manicures and pedicures. Now a days my usual outfit is pajamas. I am exclusively breastfeeding with the occasional breast milk by bottle. My little one is still eating every 3-4hours. He also loves attention and if he doesn’t get it he will let you know lol. So having mommy time or me time is pretty rough. I could have some time to myself in the morning from like 8 A.M.-10 A.M. but to be honest I would rather sleep with him. My partner Sam gets up for work pretty early anywhere from 5 A.M.-6 A.M. and he’s one of those people who needs the alarm to go off several times lol. So once he leaves I have the small window of “rest” before i get my daughter up for bed.
The most mommy time I have really ultimately had which was awesome is getting my manicure and pedicure. I felt so relaxed and literally almost fell asleep. I enjoy that time but I also hate to stay away from him for a while. I also have to remind myself that I do have to take care of myself to take care of of my children as well. So I know that being home while the baby is sleeping that I should relax instead of doing laundry even though I have a few baskets right now that should be folded or a few dishes that could be washed. Shhh don’t tell anyone. I also know that during the day time sometimes I have to make myself get up to do things. I praise those working mommies who do it all. All mommy’s are strong! I am very fortunate to be able to stay home and take of the children.
So mommies don’t forget to take care of yourself and have some mommy time! I know a warm epsom salt bath is in my near future. I may possibly have a glass of wine or two 🙂
A glass of wine helps! it’s good to get some mommy time in, even if their taking a nap in the next room.
Hi Stephanie! You are fortunate! I have two kids at all and yes! It’s been a challenge going from 1 to now 2 kiddos! OH My. I got to stay home with my first and am working with m second, I would love to stay home again, It was so amazing to have done that before. You will find your balance! My baby has now turned 6m and I really feel that maybe now I am starting to get my bearings! It takes a sec. 🙂

YES. Mom time is a must. Nuff said. Thanks for reminding me!
Self care is so so important! We are better mothers and partners when we are able to fill our own cup.
Time for you is so important!! Never feel bad or guilty about taking some time to recharge and take care of you!! A happy Mom is the best thing you can give your kids!!
It has taken me a solid 11 months to realize how necessary the mom time is…and sadly it came after breastfeeding ended. Something about that commitment makes it super hard to focus on Mom! Good for you for recognizing early enough that YOU are just as important as the regular mom duties. Cheers!
