Hey you all, I know it has been a while since I have blogged. I am literally so busy. Kai is still in the NICU. We are almost on 3 months so far. I have made a facebook page that I have been jotting down how he does instead of a full blog post. You can follow his page HERE. I am here to talk about my breast pumping journey so far and what are some things that I have used to help me.
When I started this journey I knew that I want to provide breastmilk to Kai for as long as I can. At the moment Kai is getting his feedings through and OG Tube which goes in his mouth down to his stomach. My goal is at least a year but I know I can surpass that. I have stumbled across multiple things that could help me in this journey. There a few things I have been using that have helped me and I will continue to use throughout my pumping journey.
I found Colson & Joe through instagram. I was surprised that I had not even thought about something like this. They are a monthly subscription box for pumping & nursing moms. They send out a box once a month and have samples of different items that can help you with your journey. Depending when you purchase is when you get the box. They have 3 different purchase options that can be convenient for you. They strive to chose products that are for your needs as well as something for mom & baby. They also are able to help some moms who are in the NICU with gifted boxes. This is such a great idea because as I know the NICU life it is such a great help that they do.

Legendairy Milk is also a company I was directed to on Instagram! They have different supplements that help with your breastfeeding, pumping, & or supplementing journey. I didn’t necessarily have any issue with my supply but I knew I wanted to produce more so I can have a great stash for Kai. They are such a great price and a great product. I first purchased Milkapalooza just to give them a try and it definitely helped increase from my 4 oz. sessions to about 6 oz. I recently also ordered Cash Cow & Pump Princess to start taking with my Milkapalooza. These products are a game changer. Another amazing thing that I love about this company is that each month they recognize a family through their Legendairy Littles program and every sale for that month they donate part of their proceeds to that family. They also have their Legendairy Mamas who are ladies who are lactation and sleep experts for some help for those mamas that need it. I highly recommend both of these companies if your in the looks for some help with your journey.
What I can say also that has helped me is hand expression. After I pump usually 20-30 minutes I am still able to hand express about 1-2 more ounces from both my breast. Massaging and or warm compressions have helped for sure. A great time to pump is after a nice warm shower as well. I recently was able to get a Spectra S2 for my pumping needs and I love it. It definitely helps me empty more that the pump I was using before. I will link a clickable picture below so you can check it out. You can also get pumps sometimes through your insurance, so if you’re in the looks for one I would absolutely look into it.
I also wanted to share these cute little pins from a cute Etsy shop from United Kingdom by Milk Making Mamas.
Thank you all for stopping by the blog. Let me know what some of your tricks are to your breastfeeding/pumping journey.
