Hello, and welcome back!! Today I wanted to share a recipe. I found this awesome little donut place close to our house and I get this awesome White chocolate iced coffee and it has to be the best iced coffee I’ve ever had. So I had decided to start making my own iced coffee. I had made cold brew coffee before but here recently I have been making it pretty consistently to drink more. I like to make my own cold brew because I can make it in batches and its supposedly better for you. They say it’s less acidic which means its better for your teeth and your stomach. I usually only drink my coffee in the morning and only one cup a day, and if I have one.
If you have followed my blog you would know that my youngest son was in the hospital for the first seven months of his life and finally came home almost a year ago. I have three children altogether. HE come home medically dependent on his tracheostomy, oxygen, feeding tube, etc. So it has taken us some months to get a routine down with in home nursing and then right when we were getting into the grove, we had an insurance mess. SO our routine got thrown off and tirelessly fighting for several months to get insurance back we just got it in July. Finally we are getting back to a routine, hopefully this does not change anytime soon.
I have tried several different coffee’s and I found the one I really like to make my cold brew. I use H-E-B’s Cafe Ole brand, Taste of Austin. The smell is actually really amazing, and juts smells like magic. I have never really been a big coffee drinker. As I get older I see that changing for sure. Keeping up with three kids is definitely not easy.
Alright let’s jump right into this Recipe.
Cold Brew-
Ingredients-
*Two cups of Coffee Beans/Grounds. If you use beans I definitely crushed them up a bit
*Six cups of filtered water
*Strainer
Recipe:
- Combine ingredients together in large container or large mason jar. I like to use a mason jar but whatever you see fit just make sure it fits.
- Shake well to combine all ingredients.
- Let sit for 24+ hours in refrigerator. I like to do around 2 days to let the coffee really seep into the water.
- Drain Coffee into clean jar removing any coffee grounds/beans. You can use a strainer and if there is still coffee, then use some cheese cloth for the smaller pieces.
Iced Coffee-
Ingredients-
- One- Two cups of cold brew coffee
- Creamer to your hearts content
- One cup of ice
- Sweetener- I use Coffee sauce. You can use organic cane sugar, stevia.
Recipe:
- I like to add my ice first
- Then I add my coffee sauce
- Then add your Cold Brew
- Then your Creamer
- Stir, then taste and adjust to your liking.
- Enjoy 🙂
